The Prophetic Word

HodeScripture tells us that “the Lord God surely does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets.” (Amos 3:7) If our desire is for God’s will we should therefore expect to be forewarned of what is coming upon the world in God’s plan and purpose. However, for many years we have lived in a questionable Christian world full of inconsistent prophecies from false prophets deeming themselves to be prophets of God. Peter warned us that just as there were false prophets of old there will also be false teachers among the Church. (see 2 Peter 2:1) John also warned us not to “believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1) John explained that believers may distinguish between the true and the false by the Spirit that God has given them, (see 1 John 3:24) saying, “greater is He who is in us than he that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)

As believers, it is therefore by the anointing within us that we are able to test the spirits, for it is by the Spirit of God within us we can tell what is true and what is a lie. John tells us, “And as for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you, but as His anointing teaches you about all things and is true, and not a lie - and just as it has taught you - you abide in Him.” (1 John 2:27)

So it is in this section we share prophetic words that we have received over the years, or which have been brought to our attention, all needing nevertheless to be weighed by the Holy Spirit within.

As we look back at these ‘words’ a developing revelation can be seen, revelation that is preparing us for the very end of this age and the final ministry of the true church before Jesus returns.

False prophets have historically tickled the ears of their hearers, appealing to the flesh in an endeavour to misguide, so it is important to check all prophecy with scripture, which, when interpreted aright by the Holy Spirit, confirms to us what lies ahead.

Satan, however, is going to do do all he can to deceive the world and indeed, will do so. Jesus warned that before His return there would even be false christs and false prophets showing great signs and wonders, insomuch that, if it were possible even the elect might be deceived. (see Matthew 24:24 and Mark 13:22)

Any prophetic word, therefore, needs to be handled with great care, compared carefully with scripture, and tested by the Holy Spirit within. Nevertheless let us be assured “the Holy Spirit will then lead us into all truth; He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to us what is to come.” (John 16:13)

As we near the year 2021 events are going to unfold that will lead to the last seven years of this age. World events and all we are told and hear, therefore, need to be handled with spiritual wisdom and understanding. World events , however, will confirm to us that Jesus’ return is drawing near. Jesus told us to learn the parable from the fig tree, explaining that when its branch has already become tender, and put forth its leaves, we can know that summer is near. Jesus told us therefore, that when we see all the events He foretold of, happening, we might recognise that He is near, even at the door. (see Matthew 24:32-33)

So let us pray, asking the Father for the necessary spiritual wisdom and understanding we need in all discernment that we might not be unaware of what He wishes us to know - not knowledge for knowledge sake, but spiritual understanding that we might walk in a manner worthy of the Father and walk in His will.
