The Gospel Of The Kingdom

"How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” (Romans 10:15)

“Now is the day that everyone’s faith and love of God and Christ will be tried, and who are redeemed out of the earth and who are in the earth, will be manifested, and who is the master they serve. Now it will be made manifest, whether it be of the world, or the love of God.” (George Fox - 1664)

As we reflect on the years that precede 2017, we can see the troubles in the world escalating with no apparent political solution. There actually isn’t one! Some might wonder where God is in all this but in reality He is bringing forth His purposes that were prophesied of old. With eyes to see we can begin to see biblical prophecy regarding the very end of the church age beginning to be fulfilled!”

Events in the world, with Israel and in the true and false church, move in tandem. They always have. We might recognise the significance of world events more easily but where is the true church? Where is the reality of the Kingdom of God in the hearts and lives of men?

Since the time of the early church we have seen a counterfeit of the Kingdom of God in the various and many kingdoms that men have built in the name of ‘church’. Even the very word ‘church’, used to translate the Greek word ‘ekklesia’ meaning called out ones, is questioned by many, and rightly so. It can lead to wrong concepts of who and what is the ‘church’. In the times we are now in, if we use this word, it needs to be qualified.

Jesus said the He would build His church - which is His body - and the gates of Hades would not prevail against it. 

The good news - the gospel of the Kingdom in its fulness - is hard to find. Contentment with a gospel of ‘salvation only’ prevails whilst the word of righteousness and the reality of the Kingdom in the lives of the true saints is still to be manifest as it should. The whole creation is still waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God - the full reality of the Kingdom in the lives of true saints. (see Romans 8:19)

Paul writes prophetically in his letter to the church in Ephesus, writing of the whole church reaching a unity of the faith, to the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man. This reality has eluded the church for 2000 years except in the lives of a few and for brief moments in history.  But Paul speaks of ‘all’ reaching this goal, the “whole body fitted and held together by that which every joint supplies according to the proper working of each individual part which causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.” (Ephesians 4:11-16)

This process - for growth is a process - has to begin with each member of His true church. The New Covenant promises that God would put His laws into the inner parts of each one, writing them upon their hearts; that He would be their God and they would be His people.” God declared, “All shall know Me, from the least to the greatest of them.” (see Hebrews 8:7-13)

So, Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in every true believer, that by this anointing they would be taught by Him and led into all Truth. (see 1 John 2:27) Satan has done all he can to stand against the wonderful and essential ministry of the Holy Spirit in each believers life.

It is time for every true son to hear the voice of the Lord knocking to come in that He might come in and dine with him. (see Revelation 3:20) As this happens the good news of the Kingdom will begin to go forth from a church that is truly led by Jesus Christ. 

By the very nature of every true move of God, it begins with a small number. What might not be visible today does not deny it is already there, a church that is beginning to move in the Spirit that will one day become a giant moving together in unified faith and love.

Paul, speaking of Jesus Christ wrote, “He died for all, that they who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.” (2 Corinthians 5:15)

The good news is that “God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, no longer counting their trespasses against them.” (verse 19) Believing by itself is not enough, “but as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His Name.” (John 1:12) Not only must we believe but we must receive. It is the good news of “repentance for the forgiveness of sins” that still has to be proclaimed in Jesus Name. (see Luke 24:11) This repentance leads to an exchanged life, one in which we no longer live for ourselves but for Him. This is the Kingdom message.

Already as 2017 begins the world is being shaken by events, the likes of which we have not seen for many years. Differing opinions, divisions in belief - within nations, society and even families - are being exposed. That which is in the hearts of men, that has been hidden, is becoming evident. God is shining His light on the darkness. Men’s denial of God, and belief in himself having the answers that only God can provide, is now front page news every day. It is time for the Kingdom message that is mankind’s only true answer.

The Gospel of the Kingdom of God

There is only one gospel and it cannot be restricted to any part of it and neither can it be misrepresented without it becoming a ‘false gospel’, a distortion of the gospel. Manifesting The Kingdom Of God

To express the Kingdom of God is to express His rule over our lives by voluntarily choosing to obey Christ’s Spirit and living according to, and  observing all His commands. One day all kingdoms and rulers and gods will fall. However, God’s “Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom.” (Daniel 4:3) Every system, every culture, every rule, every dominion, will one day collapse, but God’s eternal Word will last forever. His Kingdom will stand forever.

The good news is that we can enter the Kingdom of God now.

As we draw near to the end of this age and the coming ‘Day of the Lord’ the gospel of the Kingdom - the way of escape - will be preached in all the world. Only tribulation is foretold as the focus of the world will concentrate more and more on where Jesus will return - to Jerusalem. Before this time there is a work to do, a ministry to be fulfilled, by the church which is the body of Christ. Not only must the Kingdom be preached but it must become the reality of the true church.
